  1. If you financially need to work.  You need to be able to support them.  Also, kids in day care get a lot of socializing.  Mine were both very adaptable to new situations and used to meeting new children when they started school.

  2. Positives for whom?  You or your child?

I can't really see any advantage for your child.  But it might be more advantageous for you or your family as a whole.  If your family cannot get by on one income, for example, or if your working will be the difference between your children being able to go to college or not.  Or if you have a career that you love and have dedicated yourself to that you just do not want to give up.  If you are miserable because you want to be at work, nobody is going to be happy.

  3. The only one I know of is, if you are going to be so unhappy as a stay at home mom that you will take it out on your children, they would be better off in daycare

  4. Daycare can be a wonderful experience for a child if you find the right daycare.   Daycare gives children the chance to interact and learn at an early age with children their own age.

I used to work in a couple different daycares, and most of the kids loved coming and didnt want to leave at the end of the day.

When picking a day care, be sure to have a list of questions for them, and make sure the employees there are well qualified to be working with children.   You want to make sure your child is safe, and is having fun.

Some questions you might want to ask are

What kind of activities they do with the children

Do they allow the children to watch TV and how much

Are the children allowed outside play time when its nice out

How do they discipline the children

How are their room divided into age groups

What are the qualifications of the staff that they have

Just be careful about the daycare you choose.  I worked in one daycare where the teachers on duty left the children alone, talked on the phone, and didnt really pay attention to the children.  The children there would do anything they wanted, which resulted in some kids getting hurt.   Everytime this happened, it could have been prevented if the teacher was paying attention to the children.

I have worked in several different daycares and there are some  positive points about daycares.

But there are also so many downsides, like your children can get hurt because they are unsupervised, your children will be subjected to what other children are allowed to do at home, your children will be sick all the time, and so much more.    If you have to work and send your children to daycare, just be really careful about what daycare you choose.   I would never put my kids in daycare after ive seen what goes on in some of them.

When choosing a daycare, just make sure they are liscensed and their staff is wellk qualified and certified.  Each state requires different things, so check to see what your state requires.

       Good luck!
