The Virgin Islands is the melting pot of the Caribbean.  We listen to EVERYTHING.  Calypso, Reggae, Soca, Hip Hop, Pop, Rap, Country, Rock and Roll, Alternative, etc.  Some genres are more popular that others though.  The locals prefer Calypso and more urban brands of music.  The official music of the Virgin Islands is Quelbe. Governor Charles W. Turnbull signed into law legislation making Quelbe the official traditional music of the Virgin Islands on January 30, 2004.
