  1. Beers are made out of grains, including: rye, whet, barley, rice, and corn. You probably got a hold of a cheep beer dude, or gone bad.

  2. The distinct flavor in Miller beer is due to corn

Also a famous beer from Belgium, Rodenbach, uses some corn in its recipe.

The taste and aroma is caused by a chemical called Dimethyl sulfide (DMS). It is known as vegetable-like. DMS is also found in barley and its precursor is volitile and let off during a good boil.

    Dimethyl Sulfide

Description: Tastes and smells of cooked vegetables/corn/cabbage or shellfish/seafood. Is acceptable in light lagers to a degree.

Cause: Bacterial infection can cause DMS, as well as covering up your brewpot during the boil. DMS is removed from the wort during the boil, so covering it up is obviously going to cause the DMS-laced condensation to fall back into your brewpot.

Remedy: Keep good sanitation procedures, and make sure to keep a rolling, uncovered boil when brewing. Do not cover your brewpot during the boil!

  3. No beer I know of has corn in it.  They should be made with just barley yeast water and hops, although some like Bud put rice in the brew as well.
