What are some benefits of European countries adopting the Euro?

In my opinion it's pretty cool to be able to move from country to country on the continent without having to change money.

The benefits of adopting the Euro depend on the country in question. A country like Greece benefited enormously from the adoption of the European single currency for entirely different reasons to those enjoyed by larger European powers such as Germany and France.

Britain has additional political and sovereignty related issues to deal with when considering the adoption of the euro but concerns of dilution of power over UK-specific affairs are countered by claims that joining the euro would give Britain more scope to influence European policy.

Basically, it's nice to be able to drive around Europe without having to lug around bags of redundant currency.
