as i think in winter there are so many places to visit but in winter if like coldness u can go 2 shimla,kashmir but nowadays it is difficcult as it is -12 there . some other hill station like mount abu, ooty  will become a good option. if u want medium temp  than costal areas will be good or u can try some plains as it is low cold area than kashmir & abu.

IF WE REALLY WANT TO ENJOY THE ICE COVERED PLACES WE CAN GO TO KASHMIR, KULU MANALI, SIMLA, DARJEELING, NAINITAL ETC. BUT IF WE WANT TO ENJOY THE MODERATE CLIMATE MY BEST SELECTION IS KERALA, GOA, HYDERABAD, MURUDEESWAR(NEAR TO KOLLUR-MANGALORE) ETC. 1. FOR ADVENTURE LOVERS: Snow....., it attracts the hot blooded ones. Go to Solang(Manali-HP), Pahalgam(J&K), take try to see Mt. Everest from Darjiling.

2. HONEYMOONERS: It's the marriage time in many parts. Honeymooners may opt for Simla, srinagar for comparatively less adventurous but still quite thrilling & chilling.

3. BEACHES: Go Goa..it's 365 days a holiday! Or choose any other beach particularly south indian for warmth.  

4. GENERAL: A normal tourist can go for city tours to get advantage of low tariffs. Hyderabad, Madras, thiruvananthpuram, Pune, Bombay for warmth or if tolerated, Jaipur, udaipur etc.. where weather shall be a little chilly.

  I think enough options and attractions are available for all kinds of people, let me close here and plan one for myself!

All of Tamil Nadu as the weather is pleasant, coastal Maharashtra and Karnataka also the best time to see Hampi, all of Kerala.  Delhi is also great as the winter is cold and the piping hot dhaba food is very tempting as is the shopping.  Basically all those places which are unpleasantly warm at other times, become nice in winter.

its off season there...kerala is a great place to travel in dec  jan feb...all festivals fall into this period also its not too hot out there.. places not to miss munnar, kumarakam, kovalam,  varkala,cherai beach and vynad.

last winter i been to Gokarna noth west karnataka.. this is a great location for winter... 5 hrs from Goa by road ...10 hrs from bangalore.....and 3-4  hrs from mangalore
