  1. You can check out Alexa Top 100 Websites or just put in the type of website you have into Google and see which websites/blogs are listed high in the rankings. Then add your website to the comments sections of these websites.


  2. If you are seeking better ranking using this method, then don't. Search engines are no more giving high attention to this kind of backlinks, it's much better to have friend blog linking to you than having a link at one forum or something.

    There are many other ways to increase your ranking than this one, I would recommend the answers here to find the best fit your needs. Do a small search at the top to find couple of 100s answers related to this question :)
