  1. marshmellow

    popcorn

    smores

    trail mix

  2. When me and my kids have a camp out like this we make hot dogs on a stick. And i always pack some homemade granola for them to munch on too. Oh and sometime they get to make french onion soup mix dip in the tub of sour cream for their chips. Kids are so easy to please thank god.

  3. Get one of those hobo pie makers. Seriously. They are awesome! We used to make them all of the time when we went camping. They're these iron things you put two pieces of bread in, plus whatever filling you want. Then you throw it in the fire, turn it over once, leave it in a bit longer and enjoy.

You could also bake potatoes in the fire, roast hot dogs, etc.

I think the most fun we had cooking around a campfire, though, was skewering things you wouldn't normally cook with a fire (usually various types of candy) and seeing what they tasted like if you tried to cook them as though they were marshmallows.

  4. its super fun to cook in the fire. Make tin foil dinners, with little pieces of meat, chicken or whatever, stew veggies that you like, and some cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup, seasonings, seal in an individual pouch and stick on hot coals.  Good for a real meal

But just for snacks....Of course smores, hot dogs, and I love to get those biscuits in the refridgerator section (like pilsbury that come in a tube), wrap around a skewer and cook. Add a little butter or jam.

Also, get the refrigerated/tube cinnamon rolls, orange rolls, etc even the breadsticks kind, garlicky...and wrap around your stick. So yummy!!!

I like the little smokies, they're precooked, warm and dip in bbq sauce.

    Have fun!

  6. a sandwich, juice pouch/box, potato salad. lol

  7. You don't say whether you want a savory or sweet so I'll give you one of my favorites.

    Mexican Corn on the Cob

6 corn on the cobs (carefully remove the silk but leave the husk on)

    softened butter

Mexican sweet cream (in the dairy case, if you can't find it heavy cream will work)

    Mexican Cotija Cheese finely crumbled

    Cayenne chili powder

Cook the corn on the grill until done about 15 minutes turning often. Pull back the husk it will make a handle. Spread butter, cream and sprinkle with the cheese. Now if you like it spicy let go with the Cayenne, if not hold back. Eat and enjoy.
