  1. brasserie 8 1/2.. they have a brunch buffet on weekends... it's classy but still affordable

  2. Jean Georges is as classy as you can get. Try lunch - very, very reasonable! View of the park.

  3. Topaz is a nice restaurant in New York City. Dont let its appearence give you the wrong idea, the food is great, i loved it when i went there. Also, it is zagat rated, which means it has to be good. When it comesto price, i dont remember the exact prices but they were very fair.

  4. none

  5. use city guides on msn

  6. The central park area is not an area to look for cheap restaurants.  John George is one of the most expensive restaurants in the city, but I believe they still have a sort of brasserie in the summer that is not upstairs with the restaurant, and that is much more reasonable.  It's only open for a few months, you would have to call the restaurant to find out the months it is open.  There is a restaurant Gabriel's, Italian food, not too expensive, not my favorite, but I went with a load of people and they all loved it.  On  60th I think.  You can get the best Mexican Food on 62nd Street at Rosa Mexicana.  A bit on the expensive side for mexican food, but worth every peso, just love the restaurant, and now there is a PJ Clarke that just opened in the Empire Hotel.  Ok, that one's not fancy, but affordable.  Oh, Rosa Mexacana is pretty upscale, I always got dressed up for dinner, not for lunch.  Also a bunch of restaurants on CPW, but I don't know much about them, check Zagats.

    Hope I helped somewhat.
