Question:

What are some cheap food ideas for a party ranging from toddler to senior citizens and 40 or more guest??

I'm having a going away party for myself I'm moving to TN. I'm a college student and don't have alot of money and I need a delicious yet inexpensive food idea for my party. Any suggestions??

  1. I agree that you may want to ask people to bring things.  You can do a taco/potato bar.  Most of the toppings for a taco bar can also be used for potatoes.  Provide the meat, shells, tortillas and potatoes and ask people to bring toppings or sides that would go along with the theme.


  2. Buy a ham decorate it with strawberries

    Selection of different rolls, herbed butters and mustards.

    Chip, dips, nuts, cheese ball

    Club sandwiches, sausage rolls, devilled eggs, savouries.

    Portable grill, burgers, franks, stuffed sausages

    Mac and cheese, chilli, lasagne, risotto.

    It is not rude these days to request a potluck, and you provide punch etc.

    Good luck and enjoy your party.

  3. Pig's in a blanket. Hotdogs wrapped up in crescent rolls and baked. Can't go wrong.

    English Muffins OR Hoagie Buns split in half (can split again after cooking)

    Cheese Whiz

    Pizza Sauce

    Topping if you choose

    Pizza Cheese

    Spread the cheese whiz on the buns

    spread the pizza sauce over that

    Add toppings if you wish (not necessary)

    Sprinkle Pizza cheese over the top

    Bake until they start to brown on top... serve or freeze

    If too large you may cut into smaller pieces.

    Put a dab of hot sause

    Place shredded Mexican Cheese on top

    Microwave for a couple of secs until cheese starts to melt...

    Cant make them fast enough...  heehee

  5. how about you supply the main dish and ask close family memebers to bring a side dish to share-helps cut down on costs for you and lets face it people like to bring food to parties!

    how about a build your own taco/nacho bar with all the fixins

    or maybe sloppy joes

    everyone likes burgers and dogs on the grill

    or maybe a pasta bar with different sauces and meats
