  1. AT that price, all you can afford is that major medical policy through your school.

It's not going to cover little stuff, and it will have a substantial deductible, but hey, it's real insurance.

  2. I was once in your situation 5 years ago when I was in college until I found this great plan online. www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com i signed up online over 5 years ago now and have saved thousands. From Labs, Xrays, CBC...even Vision, Rx, Dental with this very affordable plan, right up your alley. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. I still have the plan well off in my career. Hope this helps.

  3. sk, I suggest you visit a nearby car insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Oklahoma I can't recommend an agent in Texas, but here is an website that can help you. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Ins...

  4. Perhaps You may google it first ,however, if you like some direct resource ,here might be your choosing.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  5. "I do not go to the doctor ever as i am very healthy. do not smoke, healthy weight, etc."

BUT, will you slip and fall, get hit by a drunk driver, get injured exercising or playing a sport or develop a medical condition in the next 5 years?  How healthy you are has nothing to do with whether you need insurance or not.  If you "needed" insurance you wouldn't qualify to get it.  Look at all the pregnant 20-somethings that ask how then can NOW get insurance.

You can do a student plan for around $50/month or you can get a "regular" plan for around $50-$60/month (assuming you're around 20 years old).  They'll be a high deductible, but that'll cover the "what if."

Don't get a short term plan because if you develop a condition during the short term period of 6-12 months you won't have coverage for that condition after it expires.  For the same reason I'd avoid the student plan.

Just go high deductible and you'll get the in network discounts for many items.

Quote 'regular' plans here...(from 7 different carriers)

And if you look at the bottom of this page (of the link) you'll see a link for Student Health Insurance (of which I'm not a fan because it's VERY limited).  Even though you can get a lower deductible of a student plan for the same money as the higher deductible for the "regular" plan do the regular health insurance plan as it's far and away better.
