  1. At the bushy edges of all the cities I think you can see wildlife, although most of it is shy and noturnal. For example in the Adelaide hills where I live you can see koalas, bilbys, occasional wallaby or echidna, plenty of possums.

Where I used to live in Sydney there were lots of possums, bandicoots, and heaps of birds including cockatoos and lorikeets and kookaburras in particular. Even in Hyde Park in the centre of the city in Sydney there are heaps of possums in the trees that come down at night to see if they can find some leftover food.

These animals don't just jump out at you, you have to be lucky to see them, except for the birds which can be very tame and bold, even cheeky.

  2. Try Brisbane. It's on the Gold Coast in the state of Queensland and has one of the best Zoo's in the world. That's where Steve Irwin (the croc hunter worked). Also Cairnes is also great. It's the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Island in the Great Barrier Reef and Lizard Island both have great wildlife.

  3. you wont find wildlife like that in the cities, you can live in australia all your life and never see a bilby in the wild

  4. Unfortunately, the animals don't live in the cities, unless you go to the zoo.  Mostly you have to go outback to see anything "wild" and then even then, you have to be extremely lucky to see anything wild, except for the kangaroo.
