Question:

What are some clever ways to find good prospects for this service ?

I am selling the service for a parking lot seal coat topping application. Once applied it will help to increase the life of the blacktop for twice as long.

The product that my company uses is the best that money can buy & is applied so that it will last for up to 3 years before needing a recoating..

All in all it's a sure thing.

What frustrates me is that I know that by using this service the prospective will end up saving a bundle but people just aren't getting it.

Not to mention that it makes for a new blacktop look. We also re- line the entire lot.

In these times where everyones watching their pennies- what would be some practicle ways of going about finding worthwhile customers to be ?

  1. Go around to buildings with their own parking and do a patch on a place that will be seen by a manager or owner, preferably their parking space. Probably want to do it on a weekend or time they are not going to be parking on it, but you know how your product cures and all that.

Paint your phone number on it, not huge, just large enough for them to see it. If you can attach a flier somewhere close with details on how it could save them money then attach that. Have your information and testimonials they can call lined up, so they know they are dealing with a good product and good people.

That will cost you some money, and it might get you yelled at for making the rest of the lot look terrible, but it will get you business if you have the guts and the ability to turn it your way, a lot of business.
