Question:

What are some community service sororities?

I rushed for Epsilon Sigma Alpha twice and did not get in, so I am looking to start up my own community based sorority on campus, but I do not know the names of some that already exist so that I can start a charter at my school. So if you know any or have any advise on starting one up I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

  1. Gamma Sigma Sigma and Omega Phi Alpha are two national service sororities. Alpha Phi Omega is a co-ed service fraternity.

As was stated earlier, all the National Panehellenic Conference sororities have philanthropies that they support.

  2. Most sororities have a philanthropy that they focus on.

Chi Omega focuses on the Make A Wish Foundation,

ZTA focuses on breast cancer awareness, etc.

You might try looking up the sororities websites for the ones that are on your campus so you can see if they are involved in a cause you would like to help with.

Then maybe you could be a community service chair in the sorority or something like that.

I know if can be hard to start up a new sorority because of rush regulations and school rules, etc

Your best bet would be to talk to your schools administration and then your Phanhellinic society or other Greek governing council to find out what you need to do.

    Best of Luck!
