What are some conditions in which CO2 is inadequate for photosynthesis to take place?

  1. Hi,

    There are a couple of conditions that come to mind.

    One condition is altitude.  At higher altitudes there is inadequate amounts of CO2 for photosynthesis.

    The other condition is pour soil.  Most of the CO2 used by plants (at least in crop production) comes from the soil.  This is why many farmers till into the soil the old plants so that the carbon in the plant will be returned to the soil and released at a later time as the old plant decays.
