  1. I have a movie for you-watch 'The Phantom Of The Opera'- the Andrew Lloyd Webber version and watch the Masquerade sequence. I think it should inspire some ideas.

Or try 'An American In Paris' with Gene Kelly and watch the Art Student's Ball sequence.

  4. Masquerade: a party, dance, or other festive gathering of persons wearing masks and other disguises, and often elegant, historical, or fantastic costumes- Dictionary.com

A masquerade is a fun party you can enjoy throughout the year not only during Halloween. You can host a masquerade for all ages- children and adults enjoy dressing up or wearing costumes. With careful planning and preparation one can host a masquerade party successfully.

How to Host a Masquerade Party: Budget

Any party, big or small, has to stay on budget. Even if money is no object, you have to have a dollar amount figured out so that you know you are paying for the right price. Some unscrupulous merchants tend to overcharge clients they know have a lot of money. Bottom line is, even if money is not an object, you want that your money to be well spent. Knowing your budget and sticking with it can help you host a successful masquerade.

How to Host a Masquerade Party: Decide on a Theme

You would need to decide whether your masquerade is a completely "wear anything or anyone you want to be" party or if it is a specific theme for example- a masquerade ball requesting your guests to wear Victorian era clothing only or if you want your guests to be donning pirate costumes. You can have a Mardi Gras type masquerade for a more festive carnival-like atmosphere.

How to Host a Masquerade Party: Location

Decide on the venue at least three months before your masquerade party. If you are only inviting a few handfuls of guests, you can have it in your own home. But, if you intend to invite a lot of people then you would need a bigger venue, unless of course you live in a huge estate that can hold a lot of people and have enough parking spaces for their cars.

How to Host a Masquerade Party: Date and Time

Depending on the venue, you may need more than three months especially if it is a popular site for parties or you want to have your party on a weekend. You need a year for bigger parties like a New Year's masquerade ball or Halloween. One reason is a lot of people or companies are maybe planning on hosting their own big events at the same time and place as yours.
