What are some cool ideas for building a headboard?

I want to design a headboard for a twin-size bed. I've got some materials-pieces of a rug that I cut into 12 inch squares, bamboo, staple gun, glue gun, etc. I tried to make one using these materials, but so far, it looks like c**p. Any suggestions, or websites I could check out.

P.S.-I'm trying to design my bedroom to look peaceful, natural, and serene. Any ideas?

Blues and greens with bamboo dose it for me. Carpet should be on the floor leave it there. Cheap natural rope interwoven with the bamboo should look nice.If your bed is staying in one place glue it to the wall. Light blue walls with evergreen pot plants will moisturize and clean the air a a lighter shade of blue on the ceiling with washes of white will open up the room. GOOD LUCK
