I have been saving glass jars from different types of sauces I purchase. Do you have any crafty ideas for them? And if you do will you please tell me how to do the idea you present also?

Thank you!

P.S. I did save the metal lids with them.

  1. use

    A glass jar

    Colored tissue paper

    White paper

    Kid-safe scissors

    Glue sticks

    Crayons, markers, colored pencils

    Glitter (optional)

    Votive candles

Make candles out of the jar

  2. What if you took all the dry ingredients you would use in cookie dough, and put it in the mason jars. label what wet ingredients would be needed, then decorate it, and give it as a gift.

  3. These are the results of a quick search I did:

  4. You could paint designs on them or use etching cream to make designs.  Or you could decorate with decals. You can decoupage with torn tissue paper or other paper. These could be used as a vase. You could drop in a few drops of 2 or 3 colors of paint or alcohol ink and swirl.

Jars make good displays filled with collections of marbles, buttons, sea shells. candy, etc.  You could layer ingredients for a recipe like chocolate chip cookies or brownies to use as gifts.  They could also be filled with homemade bath salts, fizzies, etc.

  5. Seems like everyone has the same idea with the candles, but you;ve got to be careful they will break. I made hanging lanterns out of mine for years. Fill your jar about half way full with sand then place the candle in it. To hang it you will need 18 gauge wire (hobby Lobby)( if you can't find 18 ga get 20).  cut two pieces the length of the jar doubled plus the bottom plus 4 inches. lay the wire on the table in a + pattern then put the jar in the middle and fold up the sides. Bend the extra  down and create loops by twisting it. Cut another wire long enough to go all the way around the top of the jar through the loops and left over to twist and secure  but leave two loops across from each other loose enough to put a handle on, this is made of the some wire cut to what ever length you need. Just thread it through the two loops on the jar create another loop on each end just for added stability. add any decorations you might want to the outside and handle if you use a citronella candle i'ts great to hang outside.

  6. I've seen jars that are filled with colored sand and it is so pretty.

  7. You could build a shed with them for National Shed week.
