  1. take a large plain bedsheet. use it as a background for a collage of your memories - photos, greeting cards, letters, dried flowers, buttons, shells, your own artwork, etc. You can even divide the area into sections - geometrical patterns / concentric circles or squares, etc, random shapes ....Stick any material you have lying around along the inside & outer borders to demarcate & higlight.

If there are areas still left, paint little colourful flowers/dots/stenciled figures with acrylic/fabric paint.

if you can sew, use those skills to stitch on stuff, embroider motifs, do patchwork, stick/sew on mirrors, sequins, etc.....

You could even do a very simple painting on the blank blue sheet - a LARGE yellow-orange-red rising sun in one corner, a few waves denoting water, a small boat sailing over the water, a few birds flying, .....

    have fun.

  2. Ah! this is going to be sooooo fun for you I PROMISE! making your wall decor isn't always a bad thing. There are a few things i suggest that are very cost efficient.

for the next two things you're going to want to choose a few colors that are apart of your room design. three or four would be good.

You can go to your local hardware store like home depot and get free paint samples! get them in the colors you've chosen for the room. All you need is a bunch of those and some glue.

Now mix up some of the paint samples and glue edges together as if it was a puzzle just straight clean edges and make sure you glue over the name of the color so it doesn't show. Make sure you do your paint sample picture in a size that will fit the frames you have chosen. I would go with a few large ones depending on the size of your room. Next wait for your creation to dry cut it to fit the frame and then frame it! it's a little abstract project and its a cheap way of doing it. Do a few not just one and hang them up next to each other.

Another even more fun activity i suggest is going to Michaels or Hobby Lobby your local craft store and getting Huge canvas' like two or three choose the size you want. Get some painters tape and some paint you want maybe a pint of each color you choose you can chose two to three different colors. Next you put the painters tape onto the canvas in straight lines across it or criss cross the tape. Be creative! then you paint all the white triangles and shapes you see open. Each one should be a different color to add depth. Then right after you pull off the painters tape and there you have it, another abstract home made painting.

:) I hope I helped or made sense.

if not i sugggest looking up do it yourself projects online or in books

  3. ok so this is my forte'.

1st go to a secondhand store or anywhere you can buy ugly paintings someone has self painted that no one else wants then go to a fabric store and cover the ugly canvas frames with the fabric. you can chose plain fabric for a bold statement or a range of 3 co ordinating colours.

Alternatively you can chose fabric that had bold patterns on it.

then you can use some of the left over fabric to make cushions and matching lamp shades etc.

You can even go to second hand stores and find curtains and quilt covers.

    hope this helps
