What are some creative decorating ideas for a bedroom?

Question

I am a 26 year old female who is interested in writing, art, and philosophy. I am moving into a new bedroom that has white walls and hardwood floors. I am interested in decorating it nicely but am on a tight budget! Do you have any ideas for me?

well not meant to offend you here, but its not gonna be very creative on your part if you ask someone else to tell you what to do...

Just do whatever you feel, and make it original =0)

EDIT sorry, Its just you said your into art, and I thought you would be good at doing it yourself...And if someone give you an idea, and they already have asimilar decoration, then it wont be original... thats all i meant=0)

I love doing that kind of stuff!  Two words: thrift stores!  You can get really nice furniture and accesorries for dirt cheap.  Good stuff too if you are willing to spend time sorting thorugh the c**p . I buy good solid peices and refinish them all the time and they look great.  As far as ideas- just start with one thing you really like: a favorite color, a bedspread, a frame or even a picture or a room you saw somewhere else that you really like and go from there, one element at a time.

Build your bed up high and store your stuff underneath it. Put your desk close to the window..Pier one has great inexpensive curtains.. so does Ikea

when re-decorating home, bedroom or any other room, always try to choose colors according to feng shui. in this case you will activate powers of 5 elements (water, earth, metal, wood and fire) and support all your lucky "areas" - this will attract love, romance, wealth, money, prosperity, luck etc etc
