What are some creative reception table numbering ideas?

Question

My fiance and I are looking for creative ideas for the tables at our wedding reception. A cousin of ours did their favorite movies in place of table numbers. We love that idea, but can't use it.

We are both graduate students studying electrical engineering and counseling. Some ideas we had:

-Courses we have taken, ie: Abnormal psychology, circuits, (Sounds kind of boring?)

-Places we would like to visit (I know couples pick places they have been together, but we only have places we would like to go)

-Singers or bands (we like this idea, but we're not really into music where it would make sense for the tables at our reception)

Any creative ideas would be appreciated! Thanks a lot!

1. Colors

2. Names of Flowers

3. Favorite Candy

4. Locations

5. Wedding words (Limo, Bouquet, Bride, etc.)

6. Song Titles

7. Actors/Actresses

8. Universities

9. Sports Teams

10. Perfumes/Colognes

If not your style then you could do something like this where you take pics of each other as kids (blakc and white) and label that table as the year in that photo,:

Or I saw a really cool one (can't get it to show bigger now) that was the card wrapped in white satin and the number was in small white glass beads (almost like glitter). It was so sparkly and elegant. If you yahoo search "table number photos" it pulls up a small pic of it on the upper left. Like here:

My sister and her husband love to travel so they named each of their tables "love" in a different language. I thought that was nice.

cute idea--I was also thinking about doing this!  How about:

- Places/things you have gone/done on dates

- My fiance and I were talking about doing different kinds of cacti or desert animals, cause we are living in the desert right now--is there something similar you could do that's appropriate for where you live?

- Are you guys graduate students at the same school?  Or did you meet at the same school?  You could do names of campus buildings and sites on campus... ooh I kinda like that one--I might have to use it!
