You do see the irony in your question, right?  

If you want to be original, think something up yourself.  Or, you can just do a logo on the front, with nicknames on the back.  That is an easy way to be original.  

As for the quotes, my favorite is currently "Pain is just weakness leaving the body".

without being too specific, i gotta say by FAR that I find www.quoteland.com the best for ANY kind of quote, they have a massive archive and selection of "quote genre." because the topic of quotes is so broad, i hope you'll be able to find something there! They have sections on everything imaginable, including sports. I've included the homepage link and the "quotes by topic link," which you might find a bit easier to get you started.

I doubt that many people are going to be able to come up with good original quotes. You should take a quote from Steve Prefontaine. Here's my favorite:

"The best pace is a suicide pace, and today is a good day to die."

If you can't use a pre-existing quote because of a copyright or something like that, then I suggest you put something else on your uniform, like a school slogan or a team name.
