  1. Do you mean like a stratigie? I always try to put myself i my oponents shoes.. what would they expect me to do? Then I do the opposite to trip them up. Like in stratigo.. everyone asumes you are going to hide your flag in the back of the board protected by bombs... and for that reason I put all my bombs scattered throu the board and put my flag unprotected in like the second row.. and I usually win because they NEVER expect it


  2. I ask myself "what is the most basic position in a win" then you try to get there.

    In chess you win when your opponents king can be taken next move and there's nothing he can do to stop it, this is called "checkmate". and if you have more peices than he does your chances of mating him escalate. So your goal is to some how capture his pieces without losing yours. Although this is not absolute it is a very good guideline.
