What are some design features of a calorimeter which would reduce heat loss?

  1. Make sure the calorimeter is well insulated.

    Make sure there are no holes and gaps through which the heat can escape.

    Make sure that metal parts are not exposed to the environment, as metal easily conducts heat and allows heat loss to happen quickly.

    I suggest you use thick Styrofoam to pack the surrounding of your calorimeter in order to minimize heat loss.
