What are some different activites i can use for my english class?

I am currently in a english class and my teacher has no idea what activites to do with the book we are reading (we are in the middle of "The Secret Life of Bees) by Sue Monk Kidd

Most of our activites included

the fish bowl discussion

Skits

Analyzing the text

all of these ideas are causing the students to be very bored with the material

any bright ideas or activites we could use for our class??
