so, I've been drumming for more than two years, but i still use a small beginners 5 piece drum set. my instructor has been talking to me about expanding my set, so have my parents.

i want a bigger drum set, not just in pieces, but in dimensions and stuff.

so what are common sizes, that are a bit bigger than the standard beginners set?

thank you (and i know its sad that i've been playing so long and i don't know that much about a drum set. i know sticks though)

  1. Typically, the same shell sizes are used. 22" kick, 14" snare, 12" rack, 13" rack, 16" floor.  But on occasion there are other sizes on the market.

And drum sizes aren't what necessarily differentiates a beginner's set from a more advanced drum kit.

It's all in quality and sound.

But if you ARE interested, you can go with an 18" floor, 24" kick, and tomtom sizes can vary.
