  1. Is there maple syrup in England?

  2. well you know that there are english over there in canada but also french is there. pickled pigs feet would be interesting but they should have them there. proably love them also.

  3. a pack of tim hortons coffee...a poutine but thats kind of messy

  4. Too bad you can't keep pastries good through the mail.  I worked and traveled in Canada for several years and theirs are the best in the world!

  5. Have you given some thought to food that is produced, made and packaged right here in Canada.  I really don't think you will get a lot of different stuff but if you sent things that are made in Canada it will be a real treat.  I sent my Aunt in California (yes, they produce a lot of stuff there) things made here in Canada and she loves it.

I have sent her Cookies, breadsticks and other baked goods, baked and packaged in Canada.. She loved them.

I have also sent her jams and jellies made in Canada with our fruits and berries.. she also loved them.  Honey was also a hit as was Chocolates made here. Maple Surup naturally she loved.

Make sure you package well or repackage in plastic.

I have also sent her dried salt cod.. and that was a total hit, as our Cod here is excellent.. Potatoe chips made here in Canada she loved.

Pasta made in Canada was also appreciated..and believe it not, her favorite Canadian Cheddar Cheese.

Just go to one of your better gormet shop and ask for their food items manufactured in Canada.. Good Luck

  6. Ironically I am a former chef and take my friends in Liverpool a goodie basket when I visit, the coffee is good idea there coffee is horrendous, packaged things like Swiss Chalet or St Hubert sauce mixes, they also have alot of the same cookies and other things we have, how about some WagonWheels they are a bit of a treat.

Our ketchup made by Heinz is abit different and we have plastic bottles, peanut butter and maybe a few tins of Heinz beans there's are a bit different also, more of a comparisons.

  7. There was and may still be in Montreal some wonderful cheeses like Anfleur (spelling?) and Anfrom (spelling?).  If you send the package by air, perhaps you can include some hard cheeses made in Canada.

Also, there was a wonderful yellow split pea soup that might be local to Quebec or Canada.

Does your friend have an adventurous spirit?  If yes, you can send things that are totally new.

How about stationery or a calendar with pictures of Canada?  Or with indigenous artists' work?  Items that are not food might ship better.

If your friend is a history buff, something from The Bay can be wonderful, when he realiizes that is The Hudson Bay Company.

Most people love getting a gift like that.  This person is very lucky to have you as a friend.

  8. St.Hubert Poutine

    Mmmmmmm...
