  1. Hi,

    Heat transfer is a vast subject. I don't know which standard are you studying in. Any way the most common formulas used are:

    q = m x Cp x Delta T (sensible heat)

    &

    q = m x Latent Heat of Vaporization (latent Heat)

    Where:

    q = heat transferred

    m = mass flow rate

    Cp = specific heat capacity at constant pressure

    Delta T = change in temperature

    Note: Use appropriate units for all the values to get a correct answer, for instance in British system

    q = heat transferred = BTU/hr

    m = mass flow rate = lb/hr

    Cp = specific heat capacity at constant pressure = BTU/(lb.F)

    Delta T = change in temperature = F

    Latent Heat of Vaporization = BTU/lb

    Cheers.

  2. Heat can be measured in change in temperature. This can be done with a calorimeter or a recording thermometer.

  3. Calorimeter
