For hosting Olympics:

Advantages:

1) Growing influential economy that makes it more and more necessary for global community to connect. the economy is relatively healthy compare to some nations whose economy is too recessed and broke to host Olympics.

2) Stable community and friendly citizen making it safe for athletes to compete as you've seen already (They don't wage wars everywhere like the US where alot people build a vengeful mindset toward US for minding other people's business,who's siding with US in Iraq now??)

3) China is becoming a major player in the world stage that makes it crucial for people around the world to understand it and building relationship with.

Negatives:

1) Poor environmental condition (air especially) that may cause a hard time for sport events such as marathon though the air is getting much better.

2) Possibility of being pressured by their governments to step up and criticise Chinese government for its alleged human rights abuse (too often exagerrated by US media who hasn't even been to China and had little info about it) which might hurt their focus on the game.

3) The eventful city life and irresistable food can blow their mind away literally that again, may hurt their focus.

well some disadvantages is they have a one child policy were u can only have one child. if you have another ur choices r to kill it, place it in an orphanage, or to pay a big fine which is like 10 grand in american dollars.
