What are some do's and dont's in Haiti? and what are some good places to travel (Monuments, Restaurants, etc.)

  1. I lived in Haiti for 2 years, so these are just some simple suggestions I learned then.

    DON'T.. walk around downtown P-au-P at night

    DON'T photograph Voodoo Cemetaries if someone can see you

    DON'T discuss politics

    DON'T pay the first price they ask

    DON'T flash money around

    DON'T hand some street vendor a $20 bill

    DO be polite

    DO learn Haitian Creole

    DO realize Haiti is a VERY POOR country


  2. If your planning to go to the Isla Española, you better go to the Dominican Republic it is better and safer for you!!!! Haiti is to dangerous for any kind of tourist.

  3. Haiti is a country that has been marred by civil and political unrest for decades, I would suggest that the major don't in relation to Haiti is do not go there for a holiday!!!
