  3. Contrary to popular belief, you can't really "target" specific areas to burn fat off of (i.e. doing a lot of crunches or leg lifts will not burn off a beer gut - sure, you might develop a six pack of abs, but they will still be hidden under the fat).

    To burn the fat off, you need to do 20-30 minutes of cardio 3-5 times a week.  Don't over-do it.  A moderate jog or bike ride should be sufficient (even a quick-paced walk is beneficial).  Just get your heart rate up for those 20-30 minutes, and do it consistently.  Be sure to hydrate well before, during and after.
