I need some very simple ideas that my six year old sister can make. It needs to use either no cooking or a toaster or microwave. So far, she has learned to make toast and chocolate milk.

  1. She can make a cheese sandwich in the microwave. Toast the bread, butter one side, put cheese on buttered side and melt 30 sec. or so in the microwave.

Then there is always the famous peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Only after it's made she can cut out a design with a large cookie cutter.

  2. Microwavable Pancakes and waffles only take 30 seconds per pancake.

Hot dogs only take 30 seconds per hot dog, provided they are not frozen. If frozen they take 60 seconds per hot dog.

  3. Peanut Butterscotch Crispies

1 package (11oz) Butterscotch Flavored Morsels

    1/4 cup Peanut butter

    3 cups CornFlakes

Microwave morsels and peanut butter in a medium, uncovered microwave-safe bowl on medium-high for 1 minute; stir

The morsels may keep some of their shape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10-15 second intervals, stirring until

    melted.

Stir in Cornflakes. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto waxed paper-lined baking sheets.

Chill for about 10 minutes or until set. Store in airtight container. I keep mine in the fridge.

  4. Grilled Cheese - toast the bread, but the cheese between, then put in the microwave to melt the cheese together.

Peanut Butter Toast - toast the bread and but peanut butter on it then sprinkle with white sugar or cinnamon/sugar mix.

    Popcorn

Eggs - break 2 eggs in a buttered bowl, break the yolks and microwave for 1 minute.

There is various microwave mixes available that's kid friendly. Be sure she can read and understand a measuring cup before making any of the mixes.

  5. Ants on a log!!!  celery with peanut butter lined with raisins.

  6. well no microwave definetly limits things..cerial? or maybe those easy bake oven things?

  7. Instant pudding, Jello, no- bake cookies

in the micorwave you can cook scrambled eggs, grits, oatmeal, melt chocolate chips in the microwave and dip in bananas then freeze.

    No Bake Vanilla Waffer Balls

2 cups of Vanilla Wafer crumbs

    1/3 cup sugar

    1/8 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

    1/2 cup chopped Maraschino Cherries

    1 cup chopped English Walnuts

    1 teaspoon lemon juice

    2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and roll into balls. Then roll in powdered sugar (drop by teaspoons into powdered sugar so your hands won't get so messy). If you prepare the day before you serve, then roll them in the powdered sugar on the day you serve as the sugar will absorb into the mixture if you let it stand. (1 can of Borden's Eagle brand makes 2 batches)
