You could try some Nirvana unplugged or Greenday.  It's rather easy.  If you haven't yet you should focus on learning some chords before jumping right into tab.  Groups like The Eagles have some rather easy songs in tab but you got to know the chords. I'm not sure what your into but most punk songs are also easy to pick out.  You can also look for some simple blues and country songs.  May not be your style but it can really help if your wanting to expand your ability.  There is also a free Ebook at http://www.GuitarLeader.com that can really help.  It shows a lot of diagrams and all the basic info and advice to get your playing off the ground...
