  1. i really don't know and i also have never tried tofu sorry.

  2. Easiest thing is to add it to stir fry veggie

    toss with pasta

can mix it in with puree tomatoes and bread crumbs and make a mock "meatloaf"

  3. i love tofu!! =)

  4. Pre-heat oven to 375. Oil shallow pan or cookie sheet.

Slice or cube the tofu in 1" strips or pieces. Then place the tofu on the pan in a single layer.

Cover each piece of tofu with your favorite dressing depending on how you want to use it. For example: Italian/vinaigrette dressings to add tofu to a salad or wrap; creamy dressings to add tofu to a pot pie or casserole; tomato based dressings to add tofu to chili, stew, soup, etc.

Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Stir tofu and/or turn over and cover with additional dressing, and bake for 30 minutes more. Your tofu is then ready to add to any of your favorite recipes, or ready to eat all by itself. Happy eating!

Slice tofu into "steaks." I do this by slicing the brick into slabs about 0.5" (1.25cm) thick. If you prefer, you can cube the tofu. I like the steaks!

Heat frying pan to medium heat, then drizzle olive oil over entire bottom surface & sides. Add the sliced tofu. If you are using onions, add them now, too. Allow to brown slightly on one side, then turn and brown the second side.

In a cup or glass, mix 1 part soy sauce to 1 part water. For your first batch, try using a regular-sized coffee mug. Pour this liquid over your browned tofu.

While the liquid is still bubbling, sprinkle nutritional yeast over the entire panful of tofu & liquid. You are basically trying to use enough to make a thin paste.

Stir, or move tofu around in such a way that the liquid and yeast combine thoroughly. Turn tofu if needed to ensure that there is no dry yeast left anywhere.

Continue cooking on medium heat for about 3-5 minutes more, or until the sauce thickens into a gravy-like texture.

Serve hot, over rice or potatoes!

  5. Baked tofu is super simple.  Drain water from tofu.  Wrap in non bleached paper towels.  Put in colander.  Place a small plate with a large can to weight it down.  Let drain for 15 minutes.  Remove paper towels and cut tofu into small rectangles or squares about 1/4 inch thick.

Combine 1/4 cup Soy Sauce, 1/4 cup water, 1 teaspoon garlic and onion powder.

Line the bottom of a large casserole dish with tofu.  Pour sauce over tofu and bake at 400 degrees F until liquid is absorbed and tofu is golden brown.

When you have more time, try my lettuce wraps
