I really need this recipe for school because we have a project for school. I need it to be vegetarian because a girl on my team is a vegetarian.

  1. I am Indian and so i will suggest you shahi paneer. its very tasty.

    ingredients for Shahi Paneer:

    Paneer (cottage cheese) - 1/4 Kg

    Yogurt - 1/4 cup

    Milk - 1/2 cup

    Tomatoes  - 4 no's chopped

    Onions  - 4 no's chopped

    Ginger - 1 inch chopped

    Green chillies - 2 no's chopped

    Cardamoms  - 2 crushed

    Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon

    Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon

    Tomato puree - 2 tablespoon

    Butter - 2 tablespoon

    Salt to taste

    Method:

    Chop paneer into 2 inches lengthwise.

    Heat some butter,add onion, ginger, green chili and cardamom,fry for 3-4 minutes.

    Add tomatoes and cook till oil starts separating, now add curd(Yogurt) and cook for  another 5 minutes. Cool it and blend in a mixer till smooth.

    Heat remaining butter , add blended gravy and other ingredients except milk and paneer,boil to get a very thick gravy.

    Just before serving, heat gravy, add milk and paneer pieces and boil for 5 minutes.

    Garnish with chopped coriander and grated paneer.

  2. Ancient India?..................You must just mean india as a whole.............. you know they have websites and tons of books dedicated to vegetarian indian food its really easy to find just do some work and google vegetarian indian food

  3. you can make dhal:

    saute 1 onion in pieces in some hot oil. add garlic, black mustard seeds, cumin seeds (crushed a bit in a mortar), and add some spinach (frozen or fresh), and some red lentils. cover with water and coconut milk. add in some tamarind, crushed saffron and salt. add some sort of red indian curry paste aswell.

    you can also add some potato in small pieces. YUM.

    serve this over basmati rice, with a side of mango chutney and yoghurt raita (i make mine with soy yoghurt as i am vegan). if you want to make it a festive meal make some naan bread aswell, and make some fried potato cakes - i don't remember the name, but google it. YUM. indian food is divine.
