  1. Just have simple containers or bins that are available at virtually any hardware store.  Or even just old boxes lying around and label them for recycle.  And throw pop bottles, cans, and paper into them.  Then take them to the nearest bottle depot or recycle place over the weekend before you head, or the first thing you do when you head out for some fun.

  2. Just so you know,

IT'S BEEN PROVEN THAT THE ONLY THING TO RECYCLE THAT HELPS THE ENVIRONMENT IS ALUMINUM CANS.

ALL THE REST INVOLVES WAAAAY TO MUCH RE-MANUFACTURING AND HENCE POLLUTION TO BE VIABLE

  3. If only everyone made that kinda effort, even baby steps would be great.Since you want to start with the simple stuff,i would recommend as follows:

    1. Recycle at your doorstep:

Nine out of ten of us have kerbside collection schemes, so if you don't already have a recycling box or bag provided by your local council, it's worth you calling them up and checking that you haven't been missed out!

TIP: Keep your recycling bin next to the main bin so you can take out the rubbish and recycling at the same time

    2. Find out what you can recycle

Different councils collect different materials although most collect cans, glass and paper.Check for your nearest recycling drop off point.

TIP: Make recycling part of your weekly supermarket trip and "drop when you shop" at supermarket recycling centres

    3. Sort your rubbish

Now that you know what items you can recycle, find a handy place to store them. Make sure you encourage everyone in your house to think whether items can be reused or recycled before they're thrown away.

TIP: Some things need to be washed before you put them out for recycling - use your old washing up water to give them a quick rinse

    4. Check the date and put out your recycling

Find out from your council what day your recycling will be collected. In some areas recycling is collected every week and in others it's collected fortnightly

This is just on how to start recycling.

  4. well first of all you can start by replacing a few lightbulbs in your house with florecent lightbulbs.also you can buy a can crusher(can be found at your local wal-mart)and crush aluminum cans when you are finished using them, and then put them in a bag and take them to a recycling center.

  5. The great impetus for recycling comes at the community level.  We have these giant blue containers, and we just put everything recyclable in them, and they're picked up with the garbage.

Very easy, but we have to do things like clean off food and make sure we know what goes in or not.  We don't even have to sort.

If you have a local program like this, you don't need an answer, you just have to start doing it.

If you don't, you should bug officials as to why they make it so difficult to recycle.

  6. I have 3 trash cans and separate food that can be used as compost such as peelings, egg shells, etc and put in a covered can.  Paper goes in one and aluminun cans are put in a separate can.  I use the compost myself, give the cans to my son, and put the paper in the dumpster.  I know this is just a start, but think it is better than nothing.  I live in a rural area where recycling centers are not available.

  7. if you have a recycling van that comes every now and then you should get some recycling boxes and start with paper and plasic then add glass and tin !

    hope this helps
