  1. I feel  your pain. I, too am a SAHM. I have 5 kids and my hubby works 60 hours a week and we barely scrape by.

These are 2 websites I have found helpful with somethings, maybe they will help you too.

  2. Switch over to compact fluorescent light bulbs one or two at a time.  They will save you money over their regular cousins.  Install motion sensing ligt switches that cut off when you are not in the room so you don't burn the bill up there.  Turn down the thermostat for the water heater.  Wash all your clothes on cold water to use less electricity. If teh car is gettin gless than 30 MPG than maybe your husband should switch to riding a bicycle to work unless theweather is really bad like snowing.  I did it for 6 months before and saved a ton of money in the process.  Do you clip coupons from the paper?  you can save money there as well, get a frequent shopper discount card for two or three different grocery stores and always do comparison shopping.  You can save quite a bit of money that way.

The two links I included have a variety of ways to cave some cash.  Hope this helps

  3. I stayed home while my boys were little. On weekends when hub was home, I would go & clean peoples houses & spouse sit (I'd sit with elderly ladies so their hubs could go pay bills & buy groceries). during the week I babysat 1 full time kid & 3 after school. I'm handy at sewing so friends would hire me to do hemming & alterations. I tore up worn towels for wiping the babies bottoms instead of pricey baby wipes--my kids were allergic to them anyway. I wasn't shy about letting anyone who had older boys know that I'd appreciate their hand-me-downs.

It was tough going but we managed
