What are some economical yet comfortable chain / budget business hotels in Tokyo?

There is no such thing as "budget" in Japan, its all expensive in Tokyo.

Part of the reason white guys have luck with the girls in Japan is because they are aware that travel to Japan is an expensive affair.......

So, yeah, they are likely to get lucky with the more materialistic girls there who, although a minority, form a significant portion of the female population.

If you wish to get a good deal, any hotel with a worldwide chain is good.  Usually hotel chains have business deals.  The Ramada Inn, the Hilton, basically any well-known worldwide Hotel chain will have good deals for business travelers no matter where you go, and can actually be cheaper than Japanese hotels.

The best thing to do, is look at any well known hotel names, and look at their rates, and then go to Japanese hotels and look at their rates and compare.  Because Japanese hotels are accustomed to serving only the wealthiest executives from American corporations and not run-of-the mill business travelers the cost can be astronomical.

For average folks it is better, believe it or not, to stick with American brands that have branches all over the world as it may turn out to be cheaper.

The Washington Hotel chain is good-their restaurants always have good steaks at good (for Tokyo) prices. Like the other answer says Toyoko is good as well. To get a bargin try unfashionable neighborhoods like Kayabacho or Asakusa. This is not a chain place but I have stayed here and it was a good deal.
