  1. go on line to what ever state or province you are from and type in eg "Ontario endangered species" and a whole list will magically appear and them you can do your own homework instead of being lazy and asking others to do it for you

  2. there are thousands and many of them because of deforestation.

  3. the term 'endangered' means critical. these species need to be conserved and protected against reckless poachin as soon as possible or else they shall become extinct in the years to come. For instance , the royal bengal tiger is on the verge of extinction due to severe human encroachment and loss of habitat. These elegant big cats are being hunted extensively in India for their beautiful skin.

  4. There are many endangered species (inclusing salmon and blue fin tuna) and a large majority of them are endangered because we have either destroyed their habitat or have hunted them to being endangered.

  5. there are thousands by now .

over 3000 in the last 50 years

people only think of the spectacular animals like the people mention above, but insect species are just as important in the Ecological sense

There is a series that you can download easy ,called

    bbc,Planet earth by David Attenborough.

    About 15 ---700mb videos

this is a photographic team that has been filming Nature stories all over the world ,for a very long time .

In 3 of the episodes called --the future--saving species(this one covers extinction and the importance of species)

the future--living together ,ice worlds ,

they compare films they made before of places and species to what they are filming now in the same places.

Many scientists give  commentaries as well .

And whole migrations of animals involving millions have disappeared in only 20 years,

in one place in the tundras ,in just 5 years .

    Ice sheets,glaziers have gone

They say about half of the worlds forests have gone in the last 300 years

Half of the natural  habitats, like wetlands , ice fields tundras, mountain vegetation and rain forests . in the last 50 years, and all of the inhabitants with it

Global warming is a component in a group of destructive forces at work ,it is not the only one , but  other factors which we are responsible for ,are rapidly making it the worst .

We are now  witnessing a mass   Extinction of animals and plants of Biblical proportions, equal since the disappearance of the dinosaurs.

Who cares what it is called or WHY EXACTLY  IT IS HAPPENING ,What or who is to blame

If we want to save ourselves as a specie ,we have to address

    the problems

Apparently we can correct most of the destructive factors

with disciplines ,changes of attitude and habits.

All species are in Danger eventually,

    and each is important

Imagine that the Eco system is a wall and each specie is represented by a brick

every brick taken out weakens the wall ,and eventually it will collapse ,which brick is the most important ???

    they are all important

  6. Tigers, b/c of poachers

    Polar bears, global warming

Panda's, they reproduce slowly & poaching

  7. A black rhinoceros is endangered. A lot were poached for their horns. A snow leopard is also endangered. People kill them just to get their fur.

  8. The number-one reason animals and plants are becoming endangered is habitat loss.  If creatures don't have a place to live, they will eventually die out. Animals with very particular habitat needs are especially sensitive.

Things like poaching, chemicals, over-hunting, climate change, and natural causes (hey, the dinosaurs had their chance - it's not like we ran over them in our cars...) also have a huge effect on a species' status.

  9. I couldn't possibly list all of the endangered species in the world, but I can let you know a few of them, if you want to look for some more I would suggest googling the IUCN Red List. Now all of the books that I have at the moment are out of date according to this list, however I do have a small list of critically endangered species.

    Broad-nosed gentle lemur

    Ethiopian Wolf

    Mediterranean Monk Seal

    African Wild ***

    Sumatran Rhinoceros

    Javan Rhinoceros

    Black Rhinoceros

    Hunter's Hartebeest

    Saiga

    Bactrian Camel

    Gulf Porpoise

    Amur Leopard

Most of these animals are critically endangered because of the loss of habitat, generally linked with deforestation depending on where they live in the world. Some of the African species the Wild *** for example are suffering because of multiple droughts that last longer than normal. The rhinoceros species, particularly the black rhinoceros suffer because of the use of their horns in the illegal ivory trade and usage in some chinese medicine. There are only 40 amur leopards left in the wild (estimated) and that is because habitat destruction. It is thought that if Russia build a huge oil pipe line through the country it will wipe out the rest of the species entirely and they will become conservation dependant.

The Monk Seal and probably the porpoise as well, suffer through humans fishing. Because we take away their food stocks and they also get caught up in the netting used to catch the fish they would normally prey upon.

  10. the manatee. they are endangered because boats and yachts in florida dont obey the speed limits and propellers slash their backs. alsoo, there is some sort of parasite alot like pnemonia that kills them.
