I drive a standard transmission Toyota Echo, it is awesome and fun to drive! (Get this: we downgraded from a MINI-VAN---and we are saving tons on gas, even though we sometimes have to make two trips to get everyone where we're going, since we're a family of four and two dogs!!)

A Toyota Prius. You get about 50 miles per gallon with that thing, if you alternate between the gas and electric engine correctly. I have one, and in today's world it has saved me a TON of money.

41 Nash 00, 37 Austin bantam, 47 Hudson, 54 Studebaker...these and a lot more two ton American automobiles were capable of around 30mpg highway. and they had style, comfort and a lot of impact absorbing steel...I wonder where we went wrong?
