What are some enviomental issues that the world really doenst take time out to consider?

Many of the issues today concern global warming and oil. There must be other things thats wrong with the world today. Im not talking about the destruction of rainforest and the extinction of animals, but events that affect the world on a global scale. I've been doing some research about this but i just cant seem to think of something else besides global warming and all those other stuff thats on the front page of newspapers.

The biggest issue is the destruction of plants from non-native species.

This is a problem today, there are many species of plants threatened by extinction because of other plants, fungus, insects, and other causes.

These are being ignored, tossed to the side because of global warming.  We need to concern ourselves less with the what ifs, and concern ourselves with the here now.

6 Billion American Chestnut Trees are on the verge of becoming extinct.  Imagine how much carbon could be sequestered if the effort was made to restore these magnificent trees to there once majestic beauty.

the people dont care about global warming. they say that it isnt true but we all know that it is true. They are just trying to trick us so we dont worry, it was 69 degrees the other day here and this is in the north so we all know and i know that they know but they wont admit it.

HUMAN OVER POPULATION

which is basically the cause of most other environmental issues but nobody has the guts to say anything about it because its "political suicide"

the United Nations however did try to make it more well known.. they said a sustainable population is about 5 BILLION.. many scientists argue it is only 500 Million.. however we are currently over 6.5 BILLION and growing - and yes you can see the problems it is causing...

even 1 child is population growth as long as you are alive..

the problem is we are also living longer..

overpopulation

I just dont understand how some countries work... in some areas, people have a hard time feeding themselves, and then they have like 10 kids, which they will have a lot more trouble trying to feed.  They do this under the thinking that the more kids they have, the more likely one of the kids will be able to support the father later or something... Just seems illogical.

People should have no more than 2 children, one to replace the father, one to replace the mother.
