What are some environmental problems of solid waste management in Hong Kong?

  1. The first problem is where to put it.  Wherever solid waste ends up, it will have a negative impact on the environment unless the site is designed and managed correctly.  Typical problems would be the proliferation of vermin (rodents, insects, etc..), ground water contamination, air pollution (orders and gases from decomposition) and public health issues related to the dump site.

  2. the problem if you sum it all up is that some of the waste is taken to a rubbish dump in Tseung Kwan O. But the problem which recently rose was that its very quickly filling up.

    And even though HK and China are like meant to be 1 country, its illegal to transport HK's rubbish over seas, and China is called overseas in HK. Even though its more like over-the-border.
