Going there next week....I'm freaked out....I'm meeting my family for the first time as well. I want to get along with them as well, so I want to prepare for the stuff I will need so I can focus on my nerves for the next week.

  2. I used to live there and they may tell you its summer but don't you believe them, the weather is c**p, take a rain coat, a couple of warm sweaters, anything else you need you'll be able to buy there but the food is really different so maybe take a couple of your fav chocs

  3. you probably need a electrical plug converter thing if you are bringing electronics from us needed to be plugged in.

  4. Passport and traveler's cheques. Otherwise - the only essential things are your toiletries. The British are civilized you know.

  5. if you are planning on bringing anything electronic that uses a wall plug, you will need to buy an adapter there.

the wall things are different and you could blow out and totally ruin your hair straightener, blow dryer, whatever if you plug it in!

bring clothes you are comfortable in, music you like, things that keep you calm and remind you of home.

    :)

have fun! i am SO jealous, i wish i could go to the UK.

  6. A passport.

  7. As soon as I landed, I would be headed to a self-defense store and buy some mace or pepper spray for your protection.

Americans are not like very much.

  8. CONDOMS!!!!!!!!!

  9. a ticket back to the us

  10. Get a plug converter because US wires like cell phone chargers do not fit in their outlets.

  11. International power converter, a copy of Fodor's for the UK, lots of money (the exchange rate isn't good for us), and a high tolerance for bland food.   ;-)

If you're going to visit London, be sure to get a map of the Tube (subway system).

  12. YOU CAN GET MORE STUFF THERE, AND BETTER QUALITY, THEN YOU CAN HERE.  I'D GO (AND HAVE DONE) WITH AN EMPTY SUITCASE.  VISIT PARIS WHILE YOU ARE SO CLOSE.  TAKE AN EMPTY SUITCASE THERE ALSO.

IT IS NOT COLD IN JUNE..IT MAY RAIN, BUT COLD NO - THAT IS SILLY.

  13. An Adpator, some pounds, lots of layers! Take a sense of humour. A small gift for your family will never go astray, especially if it is unique to where you live. Read up about the area, it's only polite to try and learn as much as you can before you get there.

  14. a coat its cold as h**l in london like all the time and rainy

    winter is like winter
