Kah**n I hear you.

Would you stand idly by if attacked.

Would you not recipricate.

I did not throw the first stone.

Some made their stance quite clear

when I first returned by blocking me

That is their right

Then for silly reasons report me.

Well enough is enough.

I shall lay back for a while and observe what happens.

  1. El Filibusterismo by Rizal is a perfect example :D

  2. Mga Ibong Mandaragit by Amado V. Hernandez. It's a socio-political novel that talks about the life of the Filipinos as the Japanese occupation ends during the WWII and towards the coming of the American Industrialization in the country. Most Filipino classic literatures contain revenge stories.

  3. almost all filipino literature that we study in high school.

    ibong adarna

    florante at laura

    noli me tangere/el filibusterismo

i just don't know about ibong mandaragit. lol

  4. Florante at Laura is one good example.

  5. Aside from classic favorites El Filibusterismo and Ibong Adarna, in the modern genre, there's "Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita" by Gilda Olvidado.

I once read "Ermita" by F. Sionil Jose.  It is about Ermi, an illegitimate daughter hellbent on exacting revenge from her rich biological father.

There's "Pag-ibig at Paghihiganti" too by Jose Diaz Ampil.  As the title suggests, it is a story of love and love betrayed, with one's revenge leading to the death of the protagonist.  Quite tragic.

Below are 2 stanzas from "Pag-ibig sa Kapwa Tao" a poem by Carlos Mañgalindan Castro

    Ang paghihiganti’y huwag nating bayaan

    Na magkakaroon kahit konting puwang

    Paubaya natin sa Poong Maykapal,

    Ang paghihiganti, pagka’t siya’y banal.

“Ang iyong kaaway ay ibigin mo rin.”

Mabigat na utos ngunit dapat sundin.

    Pag tayo’y inugsig, ating idalangin

    Na huwag parusahan, kundi patawarin.

Here is my English translation of "Love to our Fellow Men"

    Do not ever let revenge

Occupy a place in your heart

    Let go and Let God

For He is Holy and just.

    "Love thy enemy"

    A difficult commandment, really

    When we are accused, pray

That we will not be persecuted but forgiven.

    Edit:

    Well,

    I hear you too.

I myself have been attacked.  I got violations for my questions and got bombarded with thumbs down no matter how sensible my answers were.  Until now, I do not know who the perpetrator/s is / are but long have I stopped pondering on this.  I'd rather spend my time on more fruitful endeavors, see.

I give each one a benefit of the doubt.  Without concrete evidence, never will I point a finger at anyone, much less go so low as attack someone by making "pasaring."  I'd rather keep the issue private too and just confront the person and approach the issue objectively rather than air (dirty) laundry in public.

"An eye for an eye" will only bring further chaos especially when the manner of confronting the situation is unfair and uncalled for in the first place.  Fight fairly and squarely.  Stick to the issues.  If something is already personal, then it is better left alone only to those involved.  It is not right to meddle into something which is obviously none of any outsider's business.

    Peace.
