I think one thing that you can relate it,is that some scientist alter the genes of plant so that it can increase the yield  of the plant or  they alter gene structure so it can more resistance to plant diseases, or climate. Example corn some variety of corn that have Resistance to various plant diseases but low in yield and some have high in yield but very prone to various diseases. They get the good characteristic of the one variety and get the other variety. They can come up with a new variety that have both the good characteristic of different variety of. corn. Get it?
