Question:

What are some examples of "Royal Engagements"?

I read an article that said Her Majesty performed over 400 royal engagements last year, and that Princess Anne performed over 600.

What exactly is a royal engagement? 600 engagements in one year is an incredible amount, so assuming Anne had some time off during the year, she could very well have been doing up to three engagements per day.

This article didn't say how many Prince Harry and Prince William performed. Does anyone know?

William and Harry don't do as much as the others, yet. They are mostly concerned with keeping their mother's charities afloat and their military duties. You can check up on them at their father's site http://www.princeofwales.gov.uk/

    and at http://www.royal.gof/uk

The site for the various charities the boys support is http://www.theworkcontinues.org

Harry does have a favorite charity called Sentabale in Lesotho,Africa. It's a charity for orphaned AIDS children. He even has a favorite boy he keeps track of,sends gifts to and visits.

Prince Harry is Patron of four charities: Dolen Cymru (The Wales Lesotho Link), MapAction, WellChild and Sentebale, which he founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.

Dolen Cymru has been working for over 20 years to promote friendship and understanding between the people of Wales and her twinned nation of Lesotho, in southern Africa.

The Prince is Dolen Cymru's first Royal Patron, building on Prince Harry's current involvement in Lesotho with his own charity Sentebale.

Although Prince William is currently focusing on his military career he wants to show his support for a few organisations that reflect issues he cares about both in the UK and abroad.

Prince William is Patron or President of seven organisations: Centrepoint, a charity for homeless young people; The Tusk Trust, a conservation charity for Africa based in the UK; The Football Association, the governing body of English football; The Welsh Rugby Union (Vice-Patron); The Royal Marsden Hospital.; Mountain Rescue (England and Wales); and the English School's Swimming Association (ESSA).
