Best restaurant according to the Michelin restaurant guide:

    Dresden | Bülow-Residenz – Caroussel | Schröer, Dirk

It has 1 michelin star, so you will first need to book ahead and second need to bring a healthy wallet.

  2. Well, I like Busmann's Brazil, you can go there anytime, not just for dinner. Everyone I took there liked it. It's in the old town. In the Neustadt there are a lot of bars and restaurants.

A really nice restaurant (on top of the wine hills) is a bit outside of Dresden, it's called "Spitzhaus", you have a nice view all over Dresden. And the food is really good. Unfortunately, the link is only in German, but you can check it out anyway:

As far as sight seeing goes, just stay in the old town. Semper's opera house, Zwinger, the gallery with the Sistine Madonna, Fürstenzug and of course the Frauenkirche are a must to see. If it's not winter you can also take a boat trip down the river Elbe with the steamer. You can go to the Saxon Switzerland, too.

Check out the links. You can also contact me if you want.
