  2. Back in 1894, if two people wanted to marry, they could always run off to where they weren't known and get married.

    Or just run off and live together without marriage.

    There weren't many ways of checking on people or tracing them back then

  3. sibling,first cousins,second cousins,yes a step parent could marry there step son ,there is no blood connection between them I have seen many records that a widow would marry her brother in-law so her last name never changed

  4. Perhaps....but if it was her first cousin....then definately not!!!

  5. I don't know if it was illegal, but things like bigamy was much more common than nowadays, so even if it were illegal wouldn't have stopped it from happening. All they had to do was move and even change their names if they wished.
