  1. My name is Kelly Scoville and I am the Regional Area Coordinator of Florida for ACE/ECI.  ACE is abbreviated for Academic and Cultural Exchange and ECI is abbreviated for Educational and Cultural Interactions, Inc.  The company is based out of Oklahoma City , OK .  We are nationally recognized in finding host families and schools to participate in opening their homes/schools to the foreign exchange student program.  Also they have American students studying aboard.  You can either contact me or contact them at 1-888-446-5437.  They would be happy to give you all the information.

  2. To study abroad as a high school student, you don't have to necessarily "exchange" with someone. The term exchange student doesn't usually apply anymore to a direct student exchange (you go there to live with a family, and their kid lives with your own family). When I studied abroad my Senior year in High School in Ireland I used CCI (Center for Cultural Interchange). This organization offers programs in many different countries for high school students, college students, and adults. This was a great fit for me and everyone I came in contact with was very helpful. I do have to say though, that it does get expensive to study abroad. There's a price for the program plus your plane ticket to wherever you are going. You can apply for scholarships and looking at other programs is good for comparing prices. But the price of the program varies with different countries so do your research. I hope you end up going because studying abroad is a great experience that will continue to positively affect you long after your done.

  3. Definitely try the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.  I did this.  It was a life changing experience!  You are not obligated to have a student in your home.  I did it for a year and learned French!!!

Also contact your local club and ask them about being sponsored.

    Hope this helps.

Take a look at their website!
