The ESPN zone its great there so much fun there. Toys R Us store is also fun to look at. Times square it self is fun to look at night time.

Basically just stores: Toys R Us (ride the ferris wheel), M&M store, Hershey store, MTV store (just below TRL). You could go see the naked cowboy if he's out and working.

Bryant park for just sitting and people watching,  the NY Public Library The rotunda in the library has interesting exhibits. American Girl store across the street from the library if you have a girl between 8 - 13 with you.

Why do tourists from other parts of the U.S. love Times Square so much!!!!

As a New Yorker I find this completely incomprehensible! There are so many more interesting parts of NYC to go to, if you would only just get out of Times Square!

I was in the Village and Soho today, and I saw tons of European and Japanese tourists. How come they know it's a more interesting part of town, but other Americans don't seem to know this?

My advice, DON'T hand around Times Square. Get out into other parts of the City.

Go to the Village, Soho, The Upper West Side, Chinatown, Nolita, Tribecca. Even parts of Brooklyn or Queens!

Go see the real NYC! Not some Disneyland version of it!
