Me and my friend are kinda broke :-P and so want to go out on Sat in London for free.

Does anyone have any places to recommend we should go to that are accessible by Tube or Bus?

Cheers. ^^

  1. You don't say if you're interested in particular things, so here's a good selection of entertaining stuff if you're exploring London for the first time.

Just for starters, all the big museums are free... the Victoria & Albert, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum in South Kensington are probably the three that'd be most interesting for you, and they're all close together.

The royal parks are all free to wander around, so you could take a picnic and enjoy it in St James's Park, for instance, then wander across to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard. Lots of free events happen in the parks during summer... have a look here to get a flavour of the different parks and what's on... http://www.royalparks.org.uk/

Then there are markets -- a fantastic day out people-watching, which doesn't have to be expensive. Portobello Road and Camden Lock are the two most famous markets (both busiest at weekends) -- perfect for tomorrow. =D

And there are lots of special events through the year that are completely free, too: have a look here for more info: http://www.london.gov.uk/gla/events/

Still got energy after all that daylight sightseeing? Quite a few clubs offer free entry if you get there early in the evening. Buy a copy of our weekly events bible, Time Out magazine, when you get here for details of what's on where.

For more ideas on what's good right now on the clubbing scene have a look here; as you see, in most cases you can call ahead (once you've arrived in town) and get your name on the list. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/clubbing/a...

Hoping you enjoy your day here and that the sun shines. Love from a Londoner born and bred. =D

  2. Go to southbank, the bit where all the skater boys are if youu like them :)

  3. Go to one of the parks?  walk around, people watch.

window shop - go and try on REALLY expensive or crazy stuff, pretend you're going to a wedding or on a cruise or something.... stuff you'd never normally go for.

lots of the museums are free I think......

Just go and look at all the crazies and tourists in London - free and funny!!

    enjoy!

  4. What about the museums at South Kensington? The V and A has fashion, jewellery, etc, all kinds of gorgeous stuff. Then there's th Natural History one with the massive dinosaurs, etc, not to mention the awesome Science museum which now looks all cool and trendy. Kensington Gardens nearby for a spot of sun-bathing

  5. nope

  6. prostitution...?
